I would like to take this moment to welcome you to RDFleming.com.

My name is Richard Fleming and this is my second blog.

I hope to cover things mostly Linux and web development with a sprinkle of Windows here and there, but what I most wish to accomplish is to write a series as a Windows Administrator and ditching the dependency on a Windows desktop to do the job.  There’s also going to be postings of a more general nature about things that really get my goat with constructive critisism on dealing with them.  These will be the nature of my future posts.

For now, I’d like to tell you a little about this site and what you can expect.

The theme is provided by Smashing Magazine and Fusion.  It’s called Magazeen and you can find it at http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/02/23/magazeen-free-magazine-look-wordpress-theme/.  I’m going to modify it further to suite my own needs, but at least you know it by name.

Second, I’m using reCaptcha as captcha.  When you comment you’ll actually be helping to “digitize books, newspapers and old time radio shows”.  Along with reCaptcha, MailHide is being used to hide email addresses.  You’ll have to enter in a reCaptcha phrase to see an email.  Throw in Akismet and that should eliminate 99% of all SPAM that will eventually come.

I’m also familiarising myself with twitter.  I’m posting odds and ends there as well so if you feel inclined you can follow me @rdfleming.

Feel free to drop me a line and/or make comments.

Thanks for visiting!
